Turning an Unused Closet into the Perfect Cat Lounge

Everything I used for this project can be found here:

Hey there! So, there’s been this unused closet in my office, literally just sitting next to my desk doing nothing. And, if you know me, you know my cat, Kikko, pretty much runs this place, so I had the idea of turning it into her very own lounging and play area! 🐾

First things first, I cleared out the closet. And let me tell you, the empty space was begging for a pop of color! I went with this super cute Rifle Paper Co. wallpaper—just a strip across the back wall to give it that perfect, cozy vibe. It really brought the space to life, adding a fun pattern and bright energy.

Once the walls were set, it was time to get to work. I added a cat climbing wall on the left side with three different climbing levels and a hanging rope—because what cat doesn’t love a good challenge, right? 😹 This setup lets her jump, climb, and play all she wants, plus it keeps her entertained while I’m working.

Now, for the centerpiece: In the middle of the closet, I installed a wall-mounted cat bed. But this isn’t just any bed—it's also a bridge that connects both sides of the closet, so she can climb across it like the little explorer she is. And let me tell you, she’s been loving it! I also installed 2 little climbing steps so she can cross the lower level as well.

Over on the right side, I got creative with an old, half-deconstructed cat tree. I used the base and secured another platform in the corner to help her easily get to the top. There’s another wall-mounted bed up there too, but honestly, she hasn’t been using that one much—maybe it’s a bit too high for her taste, haha!

On the floor, I placed a cat scratcher onto an elevated feeding stand to keep her claws busy and a jute bean bag where she can curl up and nap after her adventures. It’s basically her little oasis, and it warms my heart to see her so comfy in her new space.

I’m not totally done yet—I feel like I could still add a few more touches—but what do you guys think so far? Any suggestions?
